Community connection is a hallmark of our business model. Through our commitment to specialization, we have come to intimately know and understand the communities in which we are located. And with that knowledge comes a responsibility to get involved locally.
Twelve years ago we created a program called Adopt-a-Cause to put resources back into the communities that have given so much to SSV. Management and employees at each store select a cause—ranging from children’s hospitals to search and rescue groups—and solicit donations from customers. In and of itself, the stores have met with great success in raising money, but to up the ante, SSV matches 50 cents for every dollar raised in every store. Our combined efforts consistently raise tens of thousands of dollars for distribution among local charities.

In addition to supporting local causes, we are committed to the sustainable business practices and green energy initiatives that will ensure a healthy future for our planet. As outdoor retailers, we have a special obligation to keep the snowpack plentiful and the rivers clean. The health of not only our business, but that of our friends and families, depends on it.
