Position Available: Director of Sales and Marketing
Status: Full-Time
Location: Corporate - Broomfield, CO

Vail Resorts' retail and rental operations are conducted through Specialty Sports Venture (SSV). SSV provides the outdoor industry's best products and service at premier resort locations. Today, SSV operates over 170 year-round and seasonal stores in Colorado, Utah and California, and over 40 retail branded stores, specializing in ski, bike, golf and fly fishing products and gear. SSV continues to advance into online services with RentSkis.com, through which a significant amount of ski and snowboard equipment is rented and purchased annually.

As the leader of the sales and marketing team, the Director is responsible for guiding and monitoring the team's efforts for optimal results, engaging with SSV executives and coordinating tactics with Vail Resorts counter-parts.

Director of Sales and Marketing:
Marketing:
• Provides leadership and direction for Advertising and Sales Departments
• Establishes strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives
• Develops and executes comprehensive marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to support sales and revenue objectives of organization
• Oversees and supervises the recruitment, training, and evaluation of department staff
• Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity
• Forecasts and manages sales and marketing budgets
• Supervise the planning and development of company marketing and communications materials
• Make strategic decisions based on results of marketing campaigns/programs including the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and strategies
• Resolves conflicts and facilitates changes in structure of marketing group to ensure objective fulfillment and swift response to marketing problems and opportunities
• Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events
• Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management
• Participates in the development of new project proposals and requests for proposals
• Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company
Sales:
• Develops and implements strategic sales plans in conjunction with National Sales Manager to accommodate corporate goals
• Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly
• Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals
• Set equipment rental pricing and develop effective marketing strategies marketing strategies to drive rental business through national ad campaigns, ecommerce, online promotions and eblasts
• Develop wholesale relationships, rates and contracts
• Attend industry trade shows annually

Requirements:
• College Degree
• 7-10 years of relevant experience in a retail environment
• 5 years of experience ata supervisory/managerial level
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• Demonstrated track record of successful sales and marketing programs
• Proactive and results-oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in strategic planning and execution; knowledge of negotiating; experience in planning mktg strategies, ad campaigns and successful P/R efforts
